White paper disgusts me. As an artist, I want to fill the empty space with lines and strange blobs. I want to load a paintbrush and sharpen my graphite pencils in an attempt to rewrite reality. I paint the world I see and alter details to decorate my surroundings with bold, vivid colors and harsh strokes. In my world, life is like a coloring book. I can capture a dull moment and create a unique beauty. My inspiration comes from everyday life encounters, from a pile of screws and bolts to a loved one's face. In addition to my realistic style, I challenge myself with abstract and fluid pieces that explore reflective periods. To express oneself is challenging to execute, however, removing the safety net of a sketch is a rewarding experience. It allows for creativity and growth to concur, which is progress I have only begun.
